Breast Cancer? Dreams Do Come True

Welcome to my Homepage. Selamat Datang! My name is Wong Yat Wai.

I want to share with you a business and also a dream.

My dream is to fight cancer and win that battle. I am a breast cancer patient and have been fighting this for the last 19 months.

The business I am doing is quite diverse at the moment. Was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth so I need to be able to juggle between jobs whilst making it in the business world.

Fire Up Your Senses

Fire sense! When it comes to food, from authentic cuisines to the sidewalks which serves simple bread and bubble milk tea, right up to homestays etc. food is synonymous to Malaysians. Roti canai and milk tea - if you are on budget meals - you can find Restoran Nasi Kandar Pelita on Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur. Get to where KLCC is, just walk down to where you can see the blocks of big buildings - Wisma Central, reach Pelita, if you walk further down you'll be at Wisma MCA, next to Wisma MCA is Menara Citibank.

By the way, they also serve quite good Nasi Kandar. Nasi Kandar is popular in Penang. The best of course is at Restoran Kubu in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. It's near a shopping mall SOGO. Another landmark to find the place - Maju Junction building. For those who want to savour something nearer home, we have ample Starbucks, Nando's Chicken, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald's, Coffee Bean and the lovely friendly service at San Francisco Coffee house.

If you like something like for dessert, I recommend Bakerzin (in KLCC) or you prefer a takeaway light lunch e.g. breads, head for Sun Moulin (also in KLCC).

Fight Rape!

Rape comes in many forms. War is rape. I'm not writing just about the sexual type here. Read on if you're curious enough.

Having fun is a great way to experience any holiday. But be wary that such fun can be easily killed when you meet our notorious taxi driver who refuses to use the meter for charging. Instead he barks out a fee, take it or leave it style. It's maddening.

So how to prevent such from happening so that the fun continues? For me, I won't stay to argue with that taxi driver, so I just take the bus.

Then there are the pickpockets to be aware of. It is very embarassing for me that announcements in public places warning people to be careful of these scams lurking around.

How to take extra precautions: Get some safety pins, ensure you have a slim purse/wallet that can slip easily into your pockets. Pin up the pockets. Just make it a little harder for them to get away with your purse/wallet, and it's more likely they'll leave you alone. Much like rape, they look for easy prey, not the ones who give them a hell of a time.
